Haha.. MIA so long le.. almost got used to not having a blog. but i guess kinda defeats the purpose of starting one in the first place, to remember things and events that are memorable to me. Hmmm still deciding the direction that my blog will be. But have to do something about the layout and everything.... But definitely will be blogging about stuff soon. Might put some work related pictures on, since you guys cant probably make sense of it. So expect pictures again, while i try to find time to pen stuff down.

Hmmm this happened during lunch, me and my friends were discussing about hand signs for numbers, you know each diff place have different for numbers 6 and above... So we were like explaining our different ones, and then our director came over and sat at our tables and then hearing what we were talking about, he smiled and then showed me the middle finger and asked me, do i know what this means.... Haha the whole table laughed.. then i told him... Yah... it means Good Morning and Have a Nice day.... (of course i was crapping) but it's quite funny.... the whole table laughed again....

There you have it, my director pointed third finger to me and i told him something crappy.... Once again show the power distance in denmark and singapore is totally different. Cant imagine doing it in Singapore... lol.. Can you???????

The first one is the "chinese" way, notice the six and the seven. In singapore we use the gun thing... but normally we dun go tilll 8 or 9 so i not sure what it is.

Haha... quote from one show that my fren "Mabui" <- new nickname recommended for me to watch. The movie is called "Meet the robinsons" hmmm it was shown in the cinemas in 2007 if i am not wrong. Totally my kind of movie cos related to machines and invention. I always wanted to invent and create things but always seem to find excuses to be so lazy.

i wonder izzit due to Singapore's education that we are not as creative? From what i noticed in Denmark, people really speak their minds, and if you are a singaporean u would probably know that Most of us dun speak or interrupt unless necessary. For the Danes, they can simply disagree with their boss on issues and raises questions in front of the dept if they feel that something is wrong. For us, normally during lectures or classes most singaporean keep quiet and then after that they will ask their friends instead or raising the question immediately. Perhaps it's due to not wanting to appear rude.

My colleague whom is a Brit working in Denmark once asked me, why are we so afraid to raise questions? I could only think of a few reasons:

1) We are afraid that we are asking stupid questions that would make people think that we are stupid. (Though people always say "There is no stupid questions in the world")

2) We are afraid that we will offend the speaker/lecturer/superior/director , and this is often true as to a certain extent (perhaps in chinese culture) that by rebuking it would be seen as a challenging act on the speaker. (Not sure if it make sense)

3) We simply do not care/think about those questions. (Well there are two kinds of people which you will often meet in work, those that simply follow orders and those that question orders. Of course there is no right/wrong as to which is better but for me i think i am a bit weird. I like to have orders that i can follow, but i would always question why am i doing this and i would like to find out if i have a chance to know the rationale behind doing some stuff, like the theory behind the spreadsheets that my colleagues have created. Simply put it, some ppl call this Kaypo lol)

Hmmmm this is something that i never thought of before, but coming to denmark was definitely an eye opener, where i learnt a lot about different cultures and also learn a lot of interesting stuff from my colleagues, they definitely know alot. However, everything must also have some limitations to it. Like when you are joking with your boss, hmmm still need to be within your limits, there was a case when one colleague from states told our head of our dept during one of the discussion that "why dun u do something useful and bring us some coffee, since you are just walking around doing nothing" of course you probably guessed it that well not many ppl like him. So there is still a limit to what you can joke around...

Those who know me will also know that i am an "Introvert". Initially, i dun talk that much, but once i know you... u better be prepared to be bombed with my craps. OoooOooo... it seems that today i am feeling a bit naggy.... maybe shall write more tml. muahhahahaha

Ahdee in France Part 2

Oh... i also forgot to mention that i went to the Airbus 380 Production factory tour in Toulouse. Hmmm my boss arranged for us to go there to take a look at the Airbus 380. Man it is really big.... Of course i dun have pictures of it, cos cameras are not allowed there... but there is always google...

Haha this one is taken from the Singapore Airline website. I heard from the manufacturers that SIA was the first to get the A380 and then there are like 10 A380 planes in the SIA fleet now.. Coolz right? If i am not wrong, they have the most numbers of A380 for now. But going to be overtaken, if i am not wrong by emirates. SIA only ordered 19 A380.

Coolz right? We went in to a fully furnished cabin of A380 and some computer room where we saw actual footage of the first A380's test flight i think in 2005. But too bad didnt get chance to buy anything cos when we finish the tour, the gift shop closed le... if not can buy some of the stuff there.

After the trip, we went for the dinner as mentioned in the previous post... i was a bit shocked by the number of fishes served... and i am not sure if that was the case of my stomach not used to eating so much stuff that i suffered alot on the next day.

The most exciting thing that i looked forward to was the Site Visit to 3 different sites in france. We did an analysis of the sites beforehand and headed out to see if our analysis were correct. The sites has been there for a few years already, so we were split into 3 grps and each doing one project. Then we drove to the sites to take a look at what we analyzed and see if our assumptions are correct.

The view is damn nice, but the route is super far and bumpy. I had my first car sickness thingy lor. We travelled a total of 600km and we spent abt 10 hours in the car (of course we walked around the sites in between but most of the time we were in the car) But u guys can imagine la, the sites are located at high attitude and then lots of winding and small paths to go... so i almost died from car sickness... had a severe tummyache from dunno what.. and worse... No Toilet >.<
This is one of the pictures i have taken from the top. We were abt 900m or higher? Not quite sure... But it was quite windy... And as you can see the terrain is rather complicated, so i am really impressed by my colleagues who have been working for some time that they can "predict" what will happen to the sites when we have terrains like this. I guess for me i still need alot more experience before i get as good as them. I am motivated to learn alot more from them sia. But the things they know is alot... and the things i know... lol... pretty much basic...

So Jiayou ba ahdee!!!!

Hmmmmm just spend my day in france for some work today. Had super duper heavy lunch at some french restaurants. BURP... too full liao.. but their desserts and chocolate very nice sia.

Interesting Fact 1: I heard from my boss that the French pay alot of attention to the display of the food, so the dishes are always nice to look at (Of course delicious as well) but compared to the french, in Spain the food's presentation isn't that important, the emphasis is placed on the taste of the food.

Interesting Fact 2: Not sure if you guys noticed, but i saw that at one of the french restaurant, the ladies at the table are served their food first before the rest, that's something you dun really see alot in Asian context.

Hmmmm its really fun to have the whole dept travelling together. Of course alot of fun moments with loads of insider jokes along the way.

Btw, i am having problem explaining the concept of Race and nationality to them sia. Cos i tell them that i am chinese, but i am not Chinese Chinese (Refering to the Chinese from PRC). I am Singaporean, and they seem puzzled that sometimes i say i am chinese and sometimes i am singaporean.. Haha if anyone got any ideas on how to explain the ideas i would love to hear them.

Now for some pics

1) Notice the amount of fish they gave for a serving? Definitely too much for me. I mean 4 fishes for dinner? Unless i am a cat ba. Anyway the rice was nice for this fish and the fish was alright.

2) Green colour liquid...

I think it is some mint alcohol..... hmmmm tried a bit... taste like the mouthwash that ppl used, Listerine?

3)Foie gras

Well some of my colleagues had this thingy which was like a goose liver... Didnt really like it cos i took a small bit to try... but not my kind of stuff. Besides i saw a video of how the goose are purposely fed till fat so that the liver is big for the dish. So not my kind of food

4) Creme Bruley

I had that for dessert.. Sorry no pictures taken... i finish the food before i remembered to take a picture. haha

5) Lastly, as u guys can see from the pic below, that they have a special coffee machine that lets u make espresso. U can choose the intensity or flavor of the coffee by using different colors, and once the packet of coffee stuff is inserted, it will have the coffee out in a min. Coolz right??? Hmmmm tml need to wake up early for site visit, so i guess i will stop here.. hehe

Well.... Things that happen today and for the remaining month.

1st Good News..... I am going back to SG at the end of this month. Weeeeeee reaching Singapore on the 27 Nov. Can't wait for that. I miss everyone and all the sg food... will be feasting on SG food for the month of dec... muahahahahaha.

2nd update. Today they celebrated my Ah ma's birthday and i woke up at 7am to wish her happy birthday and skype with the rest of my relatives. Haha didnt realised how long ago since i saw them.... so happy to skype with them. Haha then show them what i want to buy and going to buy for them. Mainly the nephews and niece that i have... haha sorry ar those same generation de.. .dunno what ur taste is... so ... dun expect too much....

3rd update: I am going to france tml, please dun haunt me with buying LV requests... i know its suppose to be cheaper... but well dun have much time to walk around cos its a work trip... quite excited sia.. cos first time going to visit an actual site.

4th update: If you know u want something from denmark, let me know.. i will try my best if it is within my ability and time frame that i am in dk.... haha its easier if u didnt want to receive keychains .... hmmm normally when i see something that i know that someone will like then i will buy... but if i dun see anything.. sorry man .. u are getting key chains .... and let me say... u can buy 18 singapore key chains for the price of 2 key chains here.... lol... so its not that cheap >.<

5th Updates: Please ask me out for gatherings ar.. i know i missed alot of gatherings already and i promise not to focus on eating singaporean foods at the gatherings... i will contribute and be my crappy self once again....

Hmmm its been a long time since i updated the blog. Hmm was busy settling down and moving around cos got to visit a lot of places that i never been to.

Its quite interesting to be going to europe, as it didnt cross my mind that i will ever go Europe, or at least go Europe so soon. I guess its cos Europe seems so far away, and even if i had the money, i would rather go Japan. But as fate has it, i had to go Denmark for training for 3 months. This is great chance for sua ku me to see the worlds of the ang mohs...

So begins the story of how ahdee experiences the wonders of Europe(at least part of it, not that rich and got so much time to travel to so many places)

Firstly, i would like to thank those that went to send me off that day. I must say sorry for not entertaining you guys much as i didnt expect so many ppl to come and see me off. Furthermore there was a problem with my ticket.

First time sitting KLM airlines, then i thought should be alright. But first time i went to do the self check-in counter was to receive a please report to the counter for assistance slip. This is sucky, as there was a super long queue to it. By the time i reach, which is about 9.45pm? when my flight is at 11pm? They told me that there were no seats left for me cos they were overbooked????? I was like... WTH!!!! i booked so long ago thru my company's travel agency and u tell me this???? Then it didnt help that the lady that was attending to me wasnt really that friendly. My luggage was overweight and i had to take out some stuff to carry in my handcarry, that was like so sianz lor. Really wish that i didnt bring so much things, but for a 3 month trip i think it was alright lor....

Anyway after some check here and there i told them that i had a flight to prague that morning, so die die have to get on the plane.. So they said that they will help me get a seat on other airlines. At that time, my gf heard them saying to each other in malay, to see if can get business or first class seat for me.. So i was like.. waaaaaaa not bad sia... but after some checking and stuff, somehow... a seat suddenly pop up????? can u believe it??? they said they were overbooked just now and now not overbooked???? hmmm which leaves me a bit of time to go to the gate before the thing take off.. So irritated with the airline....

Then the strangest thing happened.. it turned out that my fren booked the wrong date for the tix, which meant that we were late for the prague flight by a day.... >.< so though my fren offered to get a single trip tix for prague at the Amsterdam airport, i told him its alright as the tix were super expensive, with the price i rather stay at Amsterdam, so he agreed after weighing the pros and cons.. he offered to pay for the hotel in Amsterdam and also some of the expenses that i will incur to make it up for my tix to Prague and Accomodation. Though we couldnt go to Prague, the place with the old old and nice nice architecture, we decided to explore Amsterdam by getting a Amsterdam card which allows us entry to alot of Museums and free rides on the public trams.

I must say we really enjoy Amsterdam, shall leave the stories we had in Amsterdam for the next Post.

Something that i will definitely miss when i go to Denmark!

Guess more of you guys (if there are still any readers) know that i am going to Denmark for Work Training soon... Leaving on the 28 Aug. Hmmm didnt really plan to write this article but well.. just suddenly felt like it.

If there is a list of things i will definitely miss when i am gone for 3 mths ... 1 of them would be my dad. You will see why further down the post.

I ended work early.. so thinking that it has been ages since i went home for dinner.. heads home for dinner but as usual i think nobody cooks ... so i just sat there and was planning to get something to eat later on.. when my dad comes home... Knowing that i haven eaten.. he said he will go down to buy for me... Hmmmm then before i know it.. He went downstairs le... then he come up with a few packet of rice and ask me to go bath.

Being a rather picky eater.. i open up one of the boxes he said was mine... Then i saw the packet of rice contains Bean sprouts and White Cabbage and Fishballs.... I tot that he was joking then i take a look at the other packet.. Rice with cabbage only.. + a large fish head.. which was his.. Hmmm i ask him how come like that only ar... no meat de.. he say got ar.. but after seeing carefully.. it seems that the stall owner forgot to put in the chicken. Then i started complaining... and then got a little pissed *hungry man is angry man* so i said "haiz suan le.. i will cook noodles later* and went into the shower to bath...

While bathing.. i tot about what i said.. then realised that its kinda bad to say that.. so i thought i would just probably fry an egg and eat it with the rice... But as some of you who probably guess... when i came out of the shower in 5 mins.. my dad was helping me cook noodles.. he say.. he cook for me to eat lor.. then the rice later he will share with my mum. I told him aiya... why like that.. then i look at the noodle and realized that its the sucky flavour from one of the brands.. then i said again.. har... this flavor ar.... this one like not very nice de lor... hmmmm just now should have used the white rice and just fry rice ma.. as i mentioned that i walked back to my room.. and when i walk back to the kitchen... i saw him really frying the packet of white rice....

Then he said to me.. hmmm the noodles i eat lor.. nvm .. u eat the fried rice i am frying now... Then instantly i feel super duper bad..... but since he already started frying.. i tried to assist him and learn a trick or two from him in case i wanna cook in Denmark. So after he showed me the fried rice procedures, i told him that they look delicious and u can really see the grin on his face... which really made both of us smile.. can neutralize the earlier bad incident...

After tasting 1 mouth... well.. the taste seriously is okie.. not really very tasteful.. but i told him they were super nice (lol.. heng he dun read english.. else he find my blog i die) Hmmmm.. i think he also knows i being nice la... cos he said.. u dun not nice say nice ar.... i was telling him.. its really very nice...

Now here i am writing about the fried rice while i am eating them now. I shared some of the noodle from my dad.. so that he can finish the rice that he bought too...

My comments on the fried rice is... I would gladly eat it anyday (not every single day la. if not too heaty liao).. and i would not exchange it for even the world's most expensive fried rice.... (though no one would really exchange it la) So.. here i am... eating the fried rice and smiling to myself and feeling a little bit warm fuzzy feeling).

If any of you eat it, i am sure you all will feel the "love" that is inside

P.S. For those who wants to exchange father with me.. Sorry.. This one is already TAKEN... NOT FOR EXCHANGE sia.... hehe.....

Daddy... although i might not really say it at all.. but i lub u and mummy and then i know in your eyes i will always be the small little kid that doesnt know how to take care of himself.... And i dun really mind being taken care of by u all... but someday u all will definitely by taken care of by me.. and i will fry rice for u to eat EVERYDAY lol....

Haha... paiseh for the super long winded and emotional post... u all know i will definitely Miss Singapore and the friends that i have here.

Ahdee goes to Interview Part 3.5

The reason why this is considered a 3.5 interview and not a 4th nterview was due to it lasting only like 5-10mins.. It was done at a Recruitment Agency… you all probably can guess it la… Anyway the interview was established after I called back to the lady who gave me two missed calls during my karate training period. So I told her that I am looking for engineering jobs.. and she was saying how currently there job market for engineers are not really that high.. and she wants to interview me for the position of some corporate relations or something which ( I think is basically interview people on behalf of the company…. It’s interesting how their job title sounds so different) .

Anyway she was saying now very hard to get engineering job and what if I can’t find a job.. and how I should open up my choices and stuff.. so I told her I got interview in the morning next day.. she told me to go over in the afternoon to their branch… Hmmm I probably didn’t like the attitude and how she says everything… and on top of that.. when I reached on time.. I had to wait for like 15 mins before she came.. and took my IC from me and asking me to fill up some forms… then I had to wait for another 10 mins before she came back… hmmm wasn’t really glad cos.. she told me to be on time in the email… and well here I am expected to wait…

So she came in and intro herself.. and stuff.. so I told her I looking for engineering jobs as mentioned last night.. then she asked me.. what if 3 months down the road I still haven find any engineering jobs.. what will I do? Will I consider other industries? I told her I would prefer an engineering job as my first job… then I might like what she say get a part time job meanwhile.. while waiting for an engineering job. Then she say what about 6 mths later.. if I still cannot find a engineering job.. of course all this time she is trying to get in into working in a non-engineering job scope.. so I told her.. I would probably have to take up other jobs… but before that happens I would still prefer a engineering job now. With that.. she know that she cannot convince me.. so she say she will keep a lookout for me….

Oh well….. this one basically is complaining post… so not much tips or moral to share… probably just one I can think of?

Trivia : Did you know? Agencies charge a fee when u get into a job that they intro you. And if you worked in a temp position for them.. u are not suppose to work for that company within the 6 mths after u worked thru the agency… furthermore if you do not show up for work once u accepted the offer.. you will be liable to pay 80% of the offered salary to them. Well.. this is just in case you dunno… and might vary with different agencies la… lol….

Ahdee goes to interview Part 3

Hmmmm this time round is about the 3rd interview that ahdee went. Hmmm this time round.. its a TUAS again.... hmmmm i mean not that i am complaining or what.. but seriously... 2 hours traveling time to get there and 2 hours to get back.. dun really appeal much leh.... Hmmm it takes like 45 mins bus ride from boon lay itself.. so u can guess la... but i am sure ppl will say... well.. u are mech engineering ma... most of the jobs are there one ma... (But But... there are other jobs like @ ang mo kio or changi right?) which are much nearer compared to Tuas....

Anyway the post is for Management Trainee.. Hmmm it is a engineering company.. so i dun really mind.. and for the job would require a training of 9 mths with a job rotation to different depts in the company. Hmmm so thats not really bad too right????? at least you can get to try out different things ma..

Anyway back to the interview part... I got there early.. and managed to talk to a guy there who was here for the interview.. looks like i was the 3rd in line as he was before me and he says there is a guy who is up there le... hmmmm looks like they interviewing quite a number of people for this post. I saw the guy wearing a tie.. then i decided.. okie.. since he is wearing.. i must wear too.. so after he went up.. i went to look at the mirror and put on my tie.. lol....

Once its my turn.. i went up... and when i entered the room.. i saw 4 people.. who are interviewing me... (win liao lor... 1st interview 1 person interviewing... 2nd interview 2 person interviewing... now 3rd interview 4 person... izzit a power of 2 equation thingy that is going on?

No of interviewers = 2 ^ (Number of interviews -1)

which means that if i have another interview i would have 8 interviewers.... wa piang can play 2 tables of mahjong liao...

Anyway.. i think for 4 interviewers.. u must employ different tactics... Hmmm the standard few questions would be.. tell us more about yourself.. which i changed to saying more about my leadership and internship exposures....

Tip 1: Try to make sure u establish eye contacts with everyone... cos all are important in deciding if u go to 2nd round.. so make sure u address everyone's eyes every now and then.

lol... but ahdee look at people's eyes will be paiseh de lor... so well.stare at their forehead sometimes help..

So got one interviewer ask this...

What is your take on Sales and Marketing? (which make its obvious that he is the sales and marketing manager)

Ahdee: So.. ahdee went to say that he is comfortable with it, as it brings about alot of experience as well as product knowledge as u would need the knowledge in order to sell it well.. so i talked about my experience with Sim Lim Square...

Another interviewer told me that some dept requires getting your hands dirty and really learn how to repair and operate the machine (from which i guess he was the technical manager or something).

He asked me this.

What is your opinion on Working for a small company as opposed to a MNC?

Ahdee: Well.. i think that both offers a different variety of experience.. though MNC might be good for a fresh grad in offering the student a structured learning.. the small company might offer a different set of learning curves as the job roles are more demanding.. (This one need to change according to whether u interviewing at MNC or SME ba.

Tip 2: Be prepared to be thinking on the spot.. as like a box of chocolate... u never know what u going to get?????? Be flexible... there isnt a one size solution that fits all interviews.

Hmmm so i think stop here for today ba.. the rest of the questions like mostly the same de....

Ahdee goes to interview Part 2

Hehe.. updating this slowly... this one is about interview 2. I was interviewed by two foreigners this time. Hmmm however.. i noticed something.. instead of the normal local people who would jump straight into the grades and stuff.. the interviewer actually skipped to the part where i wrote about my skills and interests. I guess for them.. the class of honours or grades do not matter as much as the govt sector jobs.. i am sure u know what i mean.

This was totally different.. they were concerned about letting me know more about the company and also to know more about me.. at least thats what i felt.

Firstly, he explained the company's structure and also the job scope to me before asking about what i do in school.

As you guys know la.. once i start talking.. very hard to stop.. so when i showed him my FYP.. i kept talking and talking. Then i talked about my specialization module stuff and showed the guy my CAD Drawings and stuff..

So as usual when asked about myself. I talked about being a fast learner, learning various programs very fast (Which was one of the requirements), then the ability to interact with multi-cultural people from different background during my CCA also helps fit in to the profile.

Tip 1: Talk about what they want to hear seems to be the most important thing.

I talked about my design project.. which is related to renewable energy. .and explain this and that like i am a crazy guy trying to sell my design.. of course cracking a few jokes here and there.

Hmmmm so after that.. the funny thing happened.. cos.. u all know i very lame de... so.. when the interviewer asked me this question.. i tot foreigners should be able to take jokes.. so i risked it.

Interviewer A: So give me one reason why i should hire you?

Ahdee: Well.. cos i practice Karate!!!!

Interviewer A: OooOo So you saying if i dun hire u.. u will beat me up?

*All three ppl inside the room laughing*

Ahdee: haha.. well not really.. in that sense.. (maybe) but more like.. (then i carry on explaining what i do during my CCA and how i think that will help me with the job).

So... after that i actually told him i was very nervous..and hope i did well.. he did say that for a first interview it was quite okie.. so i was very happy...

Of course... after that interview .. when i told my frens about what i said abt Karate (which ahdee was super proud of) they were like saying i shdn't do this....and that....

Oh perhaps i should also mention my attire.. i prepared a tie.. but i looked ard and saw no one who is working at the company wore a tie.. so i took it off.... of course after that i told my fren.. he say fresh grads shd wear tie.. cos its the first job and everything so impression counts.. so.. well depends on ur job and preference ba.. but i tink wun kill to go to toilet earlier and put on the tie ba... i also didnt wear any belts. .and got complained by my frens saying i wear formal.. shd wear tie.. completes the look.. (though i dun feel any different... i think not much diff ma... but i still heed their advice ma.. cos they are my frenz...)

Moral of this story: Hmmm jokes sometimes can be used to your advantage. but depends on scenarios.. and also remember it is always impt to say what they wanna hear.

Haha.. ahdee's company got gym in the building.. so today during lunch hour instead of going for lunch... ahdee went to the gym with one of the regular guy who goes to the gym.... haha.. first time running on the treadmill.. have to say.. like not very used to it. feel like a hamster or something.. so weird staring at the front for so long....

hmmm since first time use.. i didnt dare run too fast.. so only ran for 30 mins at a relax pace.. But after i stepped down.. i can feel my legs wobbly.. lol.. too long never run continous 30 mins le.. hmm still far from my required pace to pass IPPT sia.. hopefully this one will train me.. hehe...

Anyway... after the gym.. we went for lunch.. and guess what we had.. Ahdee had A Ham & Cheese Sandwich... Thats all.. can u believe it??? Just a small sandwich.. i tot i will feel very hungry .. but in the end it turns out that not really that hungry.... But i did eat an additional one more apple.. after that ~~plus the additional box of Pocky that i ate later that afternoon~~.

See.. Ahdee is so proud of himself.. haha i wonder if i have the determination to follow this schedule. but it helps when there is a gym near or at your office building ba..

Hehe finally can blog le.. few days ago.. blogger seem to have a problem.. hmmm its time i write about the interviews i went. Probably can give ppl some idea what to expect.

Interview 1: A certain company at Tuas

First interview that ahdee went. Hmmm so didnt really know what to do. But i guess most important thing to do is

Research on what the company does.

Normally this question will be posed on you.
Example: So what do you know about our company?

First question, normally would be

Tell me about yourself?

Hmmm dunno if ahdee was lucky or not, but he was routed to the HR manager on the first round of the interview. The HR manager says.. normally he is the last one in the interview that will determine whether to hire me or not.

So lets call him Interviewer A.

Interview A: So tell me more about yourself?
Ahdee: Well basically i am a fresh grad from .... (the usual stuff) then i did internship at some company doing this and that.... then my FYP is so and so

Interview A: So how do you think you can contribute to the company?
Ahdee: Well as a fresh undergraduate.. i think that i am able to provide a fresh perspective.
Interview A: No.. i dun think so..
Ahdee: (-_-")
Interview A: I tink that the stuff u learn in sch not really applicable to our industry.
Ahdee: (-_____-")
Ahdee: "oh well.. i guess i no chance liao"

Hmmm but the weirdest thing is few day later.. the admin called me.. to go down as the HR manager want to talk to me. I told her that that morning i am not free as i am going to another interview. Then she told me.. the Manager making an offer... but i told her... Sorry i promised the other side i going for their interview le.. she actually say "My manager tell u not to go that one as he is making u an offer"

Oh well.. its too rush.. but in the end i turned it down as i was waiting for other interviews to come in.

Moral of the Story: Sometimes u think u screw up, might not really be the case..

Hmmmm its really quite small and nice to use. Firstly, you wun need to get the wires wound up if u need to put into yr bag. Haha... then hor.. the buttons can let u go to the next page just by pushing the scroll button to the right. (useful when reading manga). Lastly.. no wires also mean that you can be further away from the screen... lol...

Not advertising for logitech or what.. but if u guys got extra money or got sale hor.. can consider getting one lor... imagine using for presentation or what.. really convienent. Hehe

Galvanizing As explained using mrt passengers

Hmmm for those who dunno Galvanizing, it normally refers to the prevention of corrosion of steel by placing a coating of zinc, which prevents the galvanic corrosion.. also known as sacrificial protection.

Anyway.... me and yisi were talking about it on the train. and i was telling him.. that i cant really see how galvanizing works lor... Just by having a piece of zinc nearby.. the steel near the area gets protected... just doesnt make sense ma... so i quote him the example...

"Imagine a crazy guy walks into the train cabin with a gun wanting to kill anyone... but instead of shooting the guy nearest to him.. he walks to the centre and shoot you."

Maybe that piece of zinc.. wanted to be hero.. and ask to corrode himself instead of the piece of steel????? Nah.. dun think it's possible

New Ipod Shuffle: Compact and "Talks" to U

Hmmm not sure if this is old or "new" news.. but i just saw the new ipod shuffle... looks so much better than the old one if u ask me.

Dun you all Agree???? This one looks more slick... and the controls have shifted from the player itself to the earphone cords.

But there is more... this new thing has this thing called VoiceOver that talks to you... well not literally those... "Hi, how was your day master!" kinda thing... but when u wanna know what songs is playing... u can just press this button then the thing will tell you what is the song and artist name. It even tells you when you battery is running low.

Hmmm looks kinda need???? I think it's quite steep pricing at $128 for a 4gb model. But if you cant think of anything to give someone... might as well get him/her one of this.. if he/she likes apple stuff.

Hmmmm but... dunno if it's me or what... when i listen to my mp3 players... the earphones are always the ones to spoil first, perhaps due to me, coiling them round the player. So if you ipod shuffle earphone spoil... doesn't that mean that u need to get back an original ipod shuffle earphone? Or if you own those few hundred dollars earphones... then cannot use ar?

FYP Updates. Birth of the Black Box ATUGV

Sianz.. got alot to blog about sia.. but sometimes it's lazy.. but sometimes it's no time... haha Well.. anyway... updates on my FYPPresenting to you guys for the first time. The Black Box ATUGV (All-Terrain UGV). Hmmm i told my friends that i named it black box for obvious reasons... lol... and then hope that it will be like the black box in the Airplanes... which are design to survive crashes.

But... but... then my friend told me that... black box in planes are not black in colour... in fact they are red in colour... lol... i think it is so that it is easier to idenitify them.

So... why is the Airplane's Black Box called Black Box????

Well.. so... spread some love with Mio Tv. (haha they never pay me for this ADV lor)

P.S. I prefer Starhub lor.. cos got Mythbusters, National geography, and those taiwan variety shows like Guess X 3 and many more...... anyone dun mind i camp at their place to watch Starhub Shows?

V day celebration

Yupx... ahdee didnt really decide to celebrate much of the V day, since his gf was working on that day, but well, since ahdee got some time on his hand, he decided to surprise her a bit. So here is what he did.

After that, we went to buy a Polaroid Camera, A Fujifilm Instax mini 7S, hmmm it was actually for our anniversary Present, hehe kinda belated. But we have lots of fun with the camera. The shots that are taken are actually very niceeeeee... though the film is a bit expensive. >.<

Silly Adventures of Ahdee: Buying Torsion Springs

Ahdee has always been paranoid of calling strangers that he dunno on the phone. (Those that are close to me should know la.. ahdee is really an introvert!!!!)

But... sometimes.. you really have to make some calls la. Then ahdee had to buy torsion springs for his project. Hmm the choice of ordering from Misumi was like 7 Days.. So ahdee had to find alternatives ma correct?

So he found this website of this company that sells torsion spring lor... so at first he rehearse what he is going to say, and what questions he might be asked(yupx... ahdee is powerful when it comes to anticipating what others would say)

So he dialed the first 4 numbers.. then he presses cancelled button... (haha cos he was not prepared)

okie.. after 15 mins.. he prepares for the 2nd time and called.

As usual the person who picks up will go. *harlow... Blah blah blah company* very fast. sometimes ahdee will still ask again if it's the right company.

Then.... well.... his mind went blank. And he said. "Hi... i want to buy some torsion Springs!"( Ya ahdee knows.. this is not very nice to start la!"

Lady: "Where you calling from????"
Ahdee: "Erm i am a student at NUS."
Lady: Hold on *chinese pop music heard the waiting tone*
Lady: "Okie what do you want?"
Ahdee: "Erm i want to buy torsion springs!"
Lady: What size? *starts asking all the technical stuff*
*Ahdee tries his best to answer her question cos he also dunno what he wants ma*
Lady: we have alot of different type, so depending on what you need lor
Ahdee: I think i better go down and take a look
*ahdee confirms the address and she hung up*

Hmmm not very friendly la, ahdee guess that's what happens when u work in a office too long and answer phone call for a very very long time.

Anyway ahdee search for the address via Streetdirectory and found a way there via a direct bus and some walking.

Hmmm When it looks like a 10cm distance on the Map, ahdee decided to walk from the nearest bus stop that he is familiar with.

Okie... in the end ahdee took about 15mins or more to walk to the place. Yupx.. so dun belittle the map.. what looks like very close.. can be very far...

So ahdee ends up at the place. Then he looks around... No one ignores him at the office... finally he got attention from this lady.

Lady E: Yes?
Ahdee: "Hi... i called just now saying i want to buy Torsion Spring!"
Lady E: Turns around and ask around who received call about torsion spring?
Lady who answered my call: Ya he called from NUS and he dunno what he wants?
Ahdee: *Smiles*

(in ahdee's opinion.. that lady quite rude la... never show face just hide behind her cubicle.. must be an auntie.. from her voice)

So ... Ahdee was asking the lady what kinds are there, then he asked for a catalog to see for himself cos he dunno what he wants too.

While reading the catalog, the ladies (mostly aunties) started chatting, quite a lively place la.. but the conversation very sampat. What Ahdee heard (in Cantonese):

*A comes back from the toilet*
B: "Eh A, where you go just now?"
A: Toilet lor
B: Toilet do what?
A: Toilet still can do what? Of course it's Blah Blah Blah *Ahdee de cantonese is limited so dunno what she said*
*Whole Office starts laughing then they get more high*
*Phone rings*
C : "eh A , D is looking for you?"
A: Ask her she look for me for what?
*Whole Office starts laughing again*

Ahdee selects his parts and tells the quite friendly lady E then she went to get for him. Hmmm hopefully the part works then ahdee no need to go back to the office again. But ahdee still needs parts from there, so maybe he will still go back.

Hmmm do you guys have these problems? Phobia of calling other people? or Meeting Unfriendly Staff. Hmmm ahdee guess this is all very common la. you can't be too friendly to everyone also ma. But hopefully ahdee is able to overcome the first problem about calling other people.

Anyway Speaking of Mos burger... i saw a funny scene today. i was sitting near the door at the Mos Burger @ Bugis. Was enjoying my drink and eating my fries hor.. then i saw this girl carrying a cup of drink and holding something in her other hand (i.e both hands full) then hor.. she was on her way out of the door after her friend who didnt hold the door for her, while rushing the chilli sauce in the small mos container she was balancing on her drink drop with a *piak* then i look up then see she tries to squeeze through the door as it was closing.....

And you all know what happen la... she was ~~crushed~~ squeeze in between.. then she was like... "argh" cos no hands to free and the door was quite heavy.. then her friend came and save her... Hope that i was not grinning too obvious.. if not the ah lian might beat me sia..

Tongue-Tied Presentation

Hehe suppose to blog about the presentation, but it dragged a bit... but well here it is.

Hmmm... i started really working on the slides at about 2am on the day of the presentation... (was busy watching television, did you all know that starhub now got free preview channel of those taiwan variety show????? ~~so it's not my fault... it's starhub.. trying to sabo my presentation~~)

Anyway... i didnt manage to do finish.. till about 4am... i decided that.. yawnz i am too tired.. so off to sleep i went.. (i know i am a slacker.)

The next day... (or rather later that day) .. i woke up then went back sleep till about 7+ then change and pack my bag... hmm missed one bus and ended up taking the 8+ bus... then i ended up doing my slides on the bus. it was really quite fun.. it's kinda like a mixed feeling! .. you know.. part of you wants to reach school on time, yet the other part wants more time to finish the slides).

So suay.. that day got Jam.. then i reached school around 9.30... Did i mentioned my presentation is at 9.45am????? lol.. so rush all the way to my lab to grab something then went to find my presentation area (did not really know the exact place).. ..

Luckily i managed to reach at about 9.40am? and only my prof was there... so i kinda relaxed abit cos i was not late...)

So being a bit nervous(okie.. fine... VERY nervous).. i started presenting very fast after the examiner reached. With no Script only a mental rundown of what i wanted to say in the bus, of course alot of parts i wanted to say got left out.. then the main thing......

i got tongue tied by these words...

Soil Shear Strength

i was kinda speaking it like.... Soy Sure Strang (something close to it) then i was a bit laughing at myself... then thinking that oki... it's over... i realised that got another of the same words at the bottom of my slides.. so well... i went... Soil *pause* Shear *pause* Strength *smile at myself for getting the words correctly. Victory sign under the table* .

So heng everything went well.. with the examiner being like not very interested (can see from the sian face) then he asked only one question.. "What differentiates your product from the others?"

So of course i have to sell my product's point.. but well.. that is after i find out for myself.. what tat point is... so for that moment.. i crapped a bit... then he nodded his head... PHEW.....

So all the best for me.. in my final FYP (Find Your Point) Presentation.

Activity: Hmmm wanna try? Try Saying Soil Shear Strength really fast 5 times and see if u get tongue tied???

One year Anniversary

Time flies.... so fast me and my dear have been together for 1 year le. To celebrate this special day, i decided to cook for her something special.

The menu for today is Japanese Pork Katsu Curry Rice!!!

Haha. searched through wokkingmum's webby for the recipe and went to the supermarket to get the required ingredients for my first Japanese Curry Dish.

Got those instant curry cubes to put inside. Things to take note if you wanna cook the dish. Read carefully the recipe.. dun be like me.. remember wrongly and marinate the pork with 2 tablespoons of salt instead of the supposed 2 tablespoon of Light Soy Sauce.

Anyway, with the help of my dear, the dish came out quite alright. Below are some pictures of the chef at work:

hmmm overall the curry taste not that bad, just that it was not spicy, despite putting all the pepper sauce and using the HOT flavour of the cube (which was level 3) next time, shall try level 5 then. lol

Decided to make Cheese Baked Potato... but looks like we got the timing wrong, and added cheese at the front. I think we should have made the potato cooked, before adding the cheese for it to melt.

Haha.. looking around idasia website i saw this shredder that is super cute, not cos of the design but the "power source" that's behind it.

This is someone's design for his industrial design project for his master degree. It takes 45 mins for the hamster to run the wheel for the paper to be shredded.

See... Babies are amazing... i was there when zhiyang was feeding him, and darryl actually fell asleep when he was halfway drinking.

My Super Cute Nephew

Ahdee's nephew is born!!! on Xmas Eve!!!! in the morning around the same time as i was born 24 years ago. So now there is one more rat in the family hehe. My mummy say it was raining when i was born too.. so same same ... hehe... but he is both heavier and taller than me when i was born 24 years ago. Compared to him who is 3.15kg and 51cm, i was only a 2.47Kg and 27cm long. Guess i was really very tiny last time lol. Anyway enough talks, here are some photos of my super duper cute nephew. Ahdee is back from his First ~~Death Defying~~ Trekking Trip. Overall only got one thing to say: SHIOK!!!!

Starting to miss the cold waters and the field cooking already!!!!

Here are some updates of what went on + alot of ~~unglam~~ photos of me!!!

Well... After late nite grocery shopping with my group mates, namely Me, Merry, Yisi, Joyce, Xiangyu, Cheng wei and Melissa, we are all ready for our trip ahead. The excitement reeks in the air, and as usual... our cam-whoring habit sticks out again. So some photos from the Kranji MRT Station that we took.

Haha our Group members... The 7 members that will ~~anti-social with the other ppl and enjoy ourselves to the max~~

After the sampat photo sessions, we went to take bus 170 to the Singapore Custom, haha where me, yisi and merry made a fool out of ourselves. Thinking that becos Merry is non-singaporean, we decided to pei her wait all the all passport area which was super duper packed.

Then after waiting for awhile, one custom officer came to us and say that singaporean can go to the lesser ppl that side cos he saw us holding the red passport. We exclaimed that it's okie cos we accompanying our friend, then he saw that merry got student visa, then he say.. Student Visa can also go thru the singaporean passport side ma.

We were like... so paiseh lor... cos we didnt know can like that ma.. how we know??? Apparently merry knew la.. but.. oh well... lol

Moving on, we proceeded to the Larkin Terminal. Where we had Ramy Burger for Dinner and carried on to the coach for the 5 hour. The first hour where i tried to sleep was not possible, due to the two "radio" infront of me. Haha.. the Camp ICs decided to have their mini kbox session in the middle of nite and therefore.. i cannot sleep. Basically not much sleep results in a lame and grouchy ahdee... lol

After dunno when, ahdee fell asleep then when we woke up, it's 430am and we have reached in Kuantan Terminal, tired as we are, we went to wash up and prepare ourselves for the taxi to bring us for breakfast at 6am. Being bored, we decided to play some camp games and also a few of us take turn to carry yisi's bag, which was quite heavy lol... amazing... Things that are inside, which normally you dun expect, are... Frying Pan, Camera Tripod, and alot of food...

So after the taxi brought us to eat at some local street stall, we arrived at the Berkelah Waterfall start point, the carpark. Here, we all get ready for ~~battle~~ applying the mosquito patches that i have, and the sprays that they have. Haha...

And then off we go...

After alot of walking and climbing up and down the slippery rocks, we took alot of breaks and pictures. Here are some of the photos that yisi took. Enjoy.

We didnt really take photo of the night when we did field cooking. Haha very long never eat field cooking le.. but okie la.. cos Merry brought along 16 eggs... Yupx.. 16 eggs.. those were used for breakfast. Our dinner was macaroni pasta. Haha tomato based de, we mixed some cream of mushroom in for another alternative flavour. We also had sausages (but they ended up in the trash cos the container tip over)

The Rovers Comm were even better, they bought crispy chicken and seaweed chicken to fry. Power right? The other group had maggi mee and pasta too, but theirs wasn't really cooking for the group, more like cookin for each individual lol. so ours was well.. definitely nicer.

Being deprived of sleep that night, when they were at the camp fire site singing songs, i decided to go back to the tent to lie down. My back was killing me, from sitting on the flat ground. lol.. getting old le.. so i went back then merry came along then we had a rather long ~~girl to girl~~ talk... lol... well was telling her, dunno when can our friends go on a trip like this again. lol...well look forward to next trip ba guys.

After like 2 hours, the k box ppl outside stopped, then finally we are able to get some rest, the nite is super duper cold, and well... i got too lazy to even go out to pee, so i just slept through it till 7am, where we woke up to do some cooking. We had scrambled egg,french toast, cheeze, ham, bread and milo. Lol.. i cooked part of the food, though i didnt think that it was very nice, all of my frens give face la.. they never say taste horrible, but i know it didnt taste heavenly, thats for sure =P thanks guys... so everyone had my cooking... except cheng wei.. lol.. he eat bread with nutella... lol.. oh well...

After eating breakfast, we packed our stuff and break camp and climbed down, where i tore a big hole in my bag. T_T oh well .. will be needing a new bag le... might get a yisi's kind de then i can bring to the grad trip or something ba.

After we reached back to Larkin Terminal, we went for seafood..... and i can tell you... seafood is so much cheaper here sia.... Hmmm perhaps shall elaborate on the blog when i got more time ba... now a bit too late le.. hehe

Trekking to Berkelah Waterfalls This coming Week!

Hehe... although ahdee is supposed to be working on his FYP, well... keke... since Prof is on leave for the holiday... ahdee is going to take a short break too. Ahdee is going to the Berkelah Waterfall this coming tuesday.

Finally... after so many times of saying that we wanna go out and have fun, we finally did. Tis time ahdee is going with his UNI friends from the SKADI gang. Lol.. though we are left with a few usual members, like Joyce, Xiangyu, Merry and Yisi(Carrotcak) i am sure we will have fun. Hmm too bad the latest edition to our clique wanping isn't going. But well... we can be sure that the next time will be fun too. We are also in the process of organising for our GRAD Trip.

Keke... Though we might not be able to go to Japan(like i always wanted to), well.. we shall find some way to think of things to do.

This means that ahdee needs to start teaching tuition again. Any lobangs anyone?

EEk... Prof is asking for another informal meeting ~~Where he will suan us and criticize our designs and make us feel as if we did not do anything at all~~

Well... you all know that Ahdee bought a RC toy for $220 right. Here is the picture of the truck!

Remember that Blackfoot junior that ahdee did as his first project? look at the size as compared to the box of my new toy?

After some time assembling from scratch and about alot of screws..... here is the finished product!

Drunk in NUS???

Well... of course i wasn't talking about me. But well.. you know.. exam stress and deadlines coming might make some ppl resort to drinking? (Not that it helps to meet the deadline or what)

When i was going home from my lab at about 9pm at the E1A Block, i noticed a guy sleeping on the stairs, i thought that he had fainted. But as i move nearer to him, i sensed a very strong alcohol smell, so when he didnt answer my "Are you ok?" i concluded that he is drunk and i carried on my way home to the bus stop.

However, as you all know.. my imaginative power is so strong de. Then i begun to think to myself, what if he was drunk and he fell from the stairs, or if he really fainted, or is he even breathing or bleeding anyway. So.... being the Kaypo ahdee, i went all the way back to the place where i saw him. Come on... i couldnt have left him there could it? its like level 2 of that block and with lift access to every floor, no many ppl frequent that place. But much to my surprise, when i went back, (he is still there) but his things that were all over the place have been packed and placed beside him.

Thinking whether i should call for security to bring him to the guard post for him to rest, i asked the guy again.

Ahdee: Are you Ok?
drunk: "nods head" with face still submerged in his arms and facing the stairs
ahdee: Do you want me to get Security or Help?
Drunk; *Shakes head*

so... Ahdee walked away thinking that.. he thinks too much... haha he should be find sleeping there till dawn. He can ~~sing~~ drunk till dawn!!!

PSA Recruitment Talk

Today Ahdee went to the PSA Career Talk with Yisi and Xiangyu today. Hmmm after listening to the talk, hmm really makes u wonder about your future ya?

Looking Back, when we were Year 1 when we were busy playing and mugging, now when we are year 4, we are doing projects and planning our future careers as well as our grad trips. Hmmm Life does really seem to fly by. Don't you all agree?

So.... PSA? Hmmm Have to listen to more talks and see which companies are more interesting to join. Looking forward to the Toshiba job which allows us to learn Japanese and Actually work in Japan for a long term period. Hmmm I wonder if i stand any chances, working overseas would definitely allow me to learn more things, but there are so many things to consider like family and the food here. (Yupz ahdee simply likes local chinese food =p).

Hmmm since Yisi and I talked about some questions today, maybe some of you all would like to answer to these questions:

Q1) Where do you foresee yourself in 3-5years from now?
Q2) Can you foresee yourself working overseas?
Q3) Do you see yourself working in a field that you are studying currently?(E.g. Engineering Job for those in Engineering)

A1) Ahdee well.. foresees himself in somewhere challenging
A2)Hmmm... i would love to but whether i can cope is another thing.
A3)Hmmm i would love to start off as an engineer, then maybe within 5 years i would switch if i find that the engineering job is no longer attractive to me

Haha as u all know that ahdee is busy with his FYP, hmmm since ahdee was quite clueless with RC(Radio Controlled) stuff, ahdee decided to do some experiements with the stuff at the lab, and modified his Tamiya Tank he built to make it RC and also another vehicle which has two servos becoming RC too.

Well... Its actually quite simple. All you need is
-Transmitter (the Remote Control)
-Receiver
-ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) (so u can control the DC Motor)

Imagine this if two person are two different atm, and they both withdraw money at around the same time from the same account.
Due to the Database being not able to sense two person accessng the account at the same time. If you did this... it might be possible to get $200 but this constitute to Cybercrime.

However, for those trying, this is impossible for the Banks nowadays, as the computers are better at processing multiple accounts. Haha.. if maybe a 30 years ago still can.. but oh well.

Hmmm belated post ba... As you all know i ended my VIP already on the 1st Aug.... So happy, dun have to do nothing anymore. Hmmm so now i am here to ~~complain~~ talk about my VIP experience lor.

Firstly, i got to learn more about the manufacturing industry and chances are very low , though not impossible that i will work in that environment. Although a small companies offers you chances to shine... The noisy stamping environment is well.... Noisy... lol... Hard for me to work.

Secondly, Actually i didnt really regret coming to this company la. Got to know more ppl from ME side ma.. u all know who u are la. Furthermore, get to see some sides of people that i dun often see.. Like that crazy ZX who can sure write alot of words in his report, to the ZY who can talk alot of crap, also to the sensitive TH.. which i shouldn't really blog much cos he reads my blog. ~~Haha like i care?~~ No la.. sometimes i feel bad for suan-ing him too much and well in return, i will help him out with stuff. But i cant help it that i am easily Pek-Chek-Able....

So.. i think i should probably apologise to anyone whom i have offended in the company...

Thirdly, Well.... the stuff that i get to do are quite slack and quite easy so i cant say i learn much but when writing the stupid student feedback, i cant help but write okie stuff about the company. I mean i cant really complain much cos unlike my frens, i did not cut cardboards, punchs paper sleeves or be a storeman. However i did do 2.5days of Scanning documents. Hmmm but thats the way interns are made to do right? Every company should be the same. The only difference in this company was the irritating Weekly Report and the Presentation made to the boss's son.

Fourthly, i am so glad that everything is over. I even gotten a Cert of Merit, though it looks like some cheapskate piece of paper with spelling errors... but well.. very long since i gotten any praises from anyone.

Sometimes you just wonder if some job is suitable for u.. and the best way to find out would be either through VIP or IA which allows u to see clearly which path to take or in this case.. not to take.

Well... i think almost everyone in the VIP would prefer not to work for this company. I feel that the Supervisors some of them are doing alot of work,but these works are not being appreciated. Makes you wonder what i will end up working as. Getting a job with them would be easy after i grad, but is that what i want?

The same thing goes with the part time job i did... though my boss would welcome me if i join her team.. but do i really wanna sit in the office till 3am everyday?

Curry Favor

Yupx.. Finally went to this restuarant. Somewhere where i have been wanting to go since i know that they served japanese curry. Hmmm There are now two outlets, one at stamford house (Near City Hall) and the second one at Novena Square. According to Roy, the Stamford house branch's decor was more classical.
To me the Novena Square one looks not that bad. We tried getting the Stamford House one, but that place is fully booked (though kal said that the attitude when he called to make a reservation was bad). i feel that the service at the Novena one was good, they would refill your water regularly and they serve the food that you ordered to your front, instead of like standing at one corner and expecting you to pass the food to your fren. I did however got "slapped" by the waitress's hair when she turned too quickly to get the next dish out of her tray. Haha.

Now for the food, i am sure u all know that i like spicy stuff. So this place has lots and lots of diff curry food to choose from. Though most of them are using the same curry, you can however choose chicken, pork, beef, fish, seafood . There are two standards to the curry which they will ask if u want normal or spicy. Haha i wonder if they have extra spicy, cos i feel that the curry is not spicy enough, though wq says its spicy. i however like the katsu, the fried stuff are quite nice.

The price however, is a bit expensive with the curries ranging from 14+ to 20+. There is however several measures that they have come up with to cope with the ever increasing
standard of living, and that is... Half Sized Curry. Instead of serving you with a large dish, the portions are halved and the price is reduced to 9.80 for selected curry. Afraid that you would not have enough to eat? Dun worry, its quite enough for dinner and according to roy, the normal serving is a bit too big, though i saw kal de its just having more curry (which is good for me?)

(By adding $1.50 you get the miso soup and a green tea)Sorry i got too hungry then ate the half sized chicken katsu that i ordered.. The chicken is very nice... Juicy. Jus that as you all can see.. the curry is not enough for me... T_T

The Pork Cheese patties? Haha.. really got cheese inside de.. so be careful when you cut them ya?Roy ordered de Chicken katsu Donburi if i not wrong
Mushroom Fry... Hmm suppose to be their popular die die must try side. U can order the Donburi and add 3 bucks to get a drink and a side. (4 pieces of mushroom fry, 2 agarshi tofu, vege croquette, or chicken katsu.)

(-_-") i woke up late today... no wait.. actually i woke up on time... but i went back to sleep. so ended up waking up again at 7 and by the time i prepare for everything... already 7.25 when i reached the usual bus stop. Since i am going for karate camp for the weekend .. so i carried alot of my stuff. Therefore decided to take a cab down. T_T bad choice... I thought that it will cost 20+ but in the end... i didnt consider the peak hour charges. So in the end. despite i reaching work around the same time as i normally would ( i thought it would be faster), the total charges where like 26+9= $35 bucks. Haiz... next time i think i just come late ba... since my other fren (not the weird one) always turns up late.

P.S. I know would be better choice to leave house early, but i still not very used to sleeping and waking up early ma

Yupx... me and my gf went to New York New York the other day.. then we were both feeling a bit hungry so we saw this Meat Platter for two. Looking at the picture.. looks okie to finish by the two of us. So we ordered.

Yupz... boy where we shocked..... One Whole Roasted Chicken, loads of potato wedges, coleslaw, two corns, baked beans... Then got the Chicken cutlet thing then got the Pork Ribs.....

Super Sinful hor.. Took us 1 hr to finish most of the stuff... well it cost abt 40+.. so if u are hungry.. or maybe u wanna share among 3-4 ppl.. u can order that... haha.. but be warned.. DO NOT TRY THIS ON YOUR OWN...

Haha... saw this photo of this gigantic earphones on the 8 days magazine that i bought that time. Haha... though it looks like the ipod earphones, they are actually speakers shaped like ipod earphones.

Another special kind of piggy earphone i saw at the idasia website. Haha... they come in different colours wor... they should make those nails one or what, then look like your head got pierced or something. The first auntie says her children are very busy people, the daughter is a lawyer while the son deals with ling zhi, so all very busy.

The second Auntie boasts that her doctor son makes alot of money when he takes part in the operation.

The third Auntie then says her daughter working in an audit firm makes alot of money too.

For those who are thinking that FYP probably means Find Your Partner, you might be right if you started during Year 1. But now.... The headache FYP of Year 4 students means Final Year Project.

Yupz... Ahdee is going to have to choose his FYP very soon. In Fact, by tml..... and well after asking around, it seems that most of the people are choosing relatively what they perceived to be easy topics.. But ahdee sees the list of projects, those easier to do sounds so boring. Ahdee wanna do something interesting, which probably means difficult to score... Hmmm... well... projects that caught ahdee eyes include building a UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) , designing a robotic head that is able to display expression. But all these, for RObotics Lover but Robotics Idiot de Ahdee.... means.... ahdee will probably die....

After conversation with Averii, we came up with an easy guideline to choosing your project.

FYP = Find Your Project or Find Your Professor or Fail Your Project

There you have it, 3 options choose 1.

With these... FYP choosing should be an ease....... NOT ......

Oh well... probably update you all on my choices once ahdee considered them again.

Long Awaited Saxophone Outingz...

Yoz... been ages since we all met up... too bad da jie can't make it again... Got to do OT... i wonder if next time i will have to do OT so often that i cant meet up with my frens .... Hmm dun worry i will try my best de la....

Anyway.. Back to the topic... Met up with the guys at Soup Spoon... this restuarant at the Raffles City Basement. I had to say... definitely a No-No for me... firstly its open concept and free seating... meaning like food court kind, first come first chop . Secondly, it serves SOUP.... ya.. .the main course is SOUP.... In case u all dunno... Ahdee.. not reeally the Soup kind of person.. .And my Tokyo Chicken Stew isn't really that nice.... Plus.. the side which i ordered a Teriyaki Fish... was bad.... salty and garlic strong smell.... Haiz... even the Iced Tea cannot make it... but Iced Tea still can accept la.. but... the food... nah.. wun go there or recommend anyone.. unless u like SOUP of course....

Heng after that went to Gloria Jeans for Coffee... Haha.. had alot of fun and laughter while looking thru san jie's wedding photos... She looks absolutely stunning wor... looks a bit like andrea decruz.. frm certain angle... lol... Hmm then seen some of my personal photos.... they commented that my dear looks different in every photo she takes... lol... bai bian nu lang.....
Sorry Shi san Yi.. for commenting on yr cute ~~Mushroom~~ hair. Its really quite cute....

Ahdee BKT anyone?

In case you all wondering what BKT is? Its not bukit Timah hiking hor. It stands for Bak Kuh Teh 肉骨茶.

Hmmm that day after sat's training, weiquan, denise, roy and me went to this BKT place at Boon Keng Mrt Station. According to roy's recommendation its very nice so... we decided to dine at the place. The BKT here is the Singaporean commonly seen White Pepper Soup kind, As opposed to the dark herbal soup kind, i prefer the white one.

Anyway the stall's name was Ah Dee Bak Kut Teh. Seriously, i am not kidding.... ~~In fact, i am the long lost relative of that stall, and it was I ahdee who taught them the secret recipe that allows it to be so famous.~~ Look at the SS below for proof.

Haha... See.. i never bluff you all.... Anyway we order quite a lot of food, and roy and wei quan enjoyed eating the pig's trotter.. which was .... (-_-") haha.

Ahdee did not have the normal BKT instead.. i had the 龙骨part of the BKT as opposed to the normal kind. First time for ahdee eating that part. Its like eating a drumstick where u hold on to the bone and just bite. Not bad if you ask me. but i feel that the meat was too little... lol... If i never remember wrongly i think normal BKT is $4.50 and the 龙骨was $6. So for those people who like to eat BKT, maybe u can give this a try and let me know what you think.

P.S. Pls dun go try asking for discount by saying you know ahdee. I tried and it doesn't work! T_T

Celebration with the cloudie ppl... Too bad josiah and Gerald aren't here. Hmmm anyway the outing was filled with couples... as 4 couples including myself attending my birthday celebration. Hmmm i even had ice cream cake at the end, though it was shared between pei lee and me... hehe... her birthday is in the beginning of june while mine was end of may so together celebrate lor. Hehe... Looking forward to the next outing by the cloudie where its mary and roy's big day....

Hmmm ... well.... last time was only Skadi pplz celebrating for me... then now incorporated alot more ppl le. They include wei ann and juebin. Xueyin aka Grace was suppose to be there but then he/she flew my aeroplane once again. So... Haha.... still finding a decent photo of him so i can photoshop him into the picture sia. Anyway we went to minds cafe, which was lots of fun as usual. It took awhile for us to be really high and by the time we reach uno stacko and the monkey game... we were like laughing and laughing lots... Haha... Some of the interesting shots of that day.

At the end of the day..... we all learnt a cool thing about uno stacko from wei ann... lol.. now can use to impress other ~~girls~~ people le... keke... makes me wanna get uno stacko sia... Dunno got time to show you all the video of wei ann doing the uno stacko trick. *Might have video coming up*

Birthday Celebration with Dear

Hehe.... alot of celebrations these past days.

Dear celebrated with me on my birthday at NYDC. But she refuse to let me take her photo.... *irritating*

Haha.. then after our main course dinner (which wasnt very nice), we had our mudpie. Very long never eat the Cookie Monster Mudpie le... so nice sia...
After that, dear and i went to take neoprints... lol... so exciting to take. First time we took together, but i think wun be the last ba... we had fun decorating with our prints. See if i can get her to scan the neoprints then i can post here...
Just when u tot that thats the end when i sent her home.... @ home was another surprise.. Hmmm her hse mate elaine was hiding inside the dark living room with a cake.... hehe.. ontop of that chocolate coated strawberries made by dear looks good (T_T i wanted to make that for her birthday de.... she beat me to it)

Hmmm however, upon reaching home.. dear realised that she had lost her wallet. Might have dropped on her way to school this morning... she tot that she left it at home.. so ahdee spent the remaining time digging in her living room, in between sofas and under tables...
Hope that any kind soul who finds her wallet returns her the cards, the cash still okie.. but i'm sure u all know la.. got to make this and replace that .. very mafan ma.... hopefully someone finds it and returns her.

The karate club ppl pooled and got me 3 shirts lor... 2 short and 1 long sleeve de... Useful lor... since the ~~factory~~ company that ahdee works in is super hot... the Shirts will come in handy.. Thanks karate club family & WeiQuan for calling me to ask about my size.(though ahdee told him the wrong size... but i think shd be able to wear ba.. lol)

Roy & Gerald got me a mechanical bug, that can sense obstacles as well as sound. Interesting right? First Robot that ahdee received! Shiok!!!! Too bad they set one condition that ahdee cannot dismantle the bug T_T ... Hehe... but but but they never say anything about modifying it ma... muhahahah maybe can change the batt power to solar!!! lol

Iyan gave me a photo frame with all the beautiful memories of the karate big family! Its so nice.... i will keep it... if next time ahdee office got desk confirm i will put there de...

New York New York Comes Heartland

Haha.. literally as the title suggest, there is a new outlet at heartland mall kovan. For those who dunno where kovan is, its in hougang.. Lol.. just walked pass the outlet just now when i went for dinner with my tuition kid. Hmmm weird choice of location if you ask me. Opening the shop at heartland mall where mostly aunties visit.

Besides during afternoon period, only have poor students who can't afford to have that and would rather have McDonalds. Unless they have some promotion, if not 6 mths would be max before they collapse... Lol... Well being in Hougang For quite some time, i have seen alot of shops changing due to lack of customers. Haha.

For Those who want a quiet place to dine, can try the new york @ heartland lor.... Dunno wil it be full of small kids and aunties nagging. Try @ yr own risk.

Morning Crowds are at the extreme @ Boon Lay. Heard from my fren that NTU bus there was once the queue went up to the MRT station. Thats like.... so.... kua zhang la...

As you all can see... thats the queue of my bus 252. This is about 745 ~8am. Yawnz.... Scary? Thankfully the bus comes like almost every 5 mins. But still.. .seeing all these people are scary. And ahdee is one of them as well... T_T

度日如年 really make sense for me sia.... i worked 4 days le.... its like 4 years have passed.... oh well... Anyway ahdee has bought a new book to keep him company. Haha... but i find working at that place isn't really that boring.... just that got deadlines to meet.... haha... which some ahdee finds interesting.

That day Big Big Boss says that we NUS students will be helping out with fixing the SOP and WI for the company... and that when the next batch of NTU ppl come in... they will be working on CIP(Continous Improvement Projects). When i heard that, i felt depressed. Cos it was the chance of doing some innovative work that i chose that company in the first place.

*Shake head and shrugs*

Oh well... Most interns dun do relevance stuff. Why do they need engineering students to refine and translate their instructions?

I guess that's Life ar?

Routine of Ahdee's Work Life:
6am - Wake up
6.30am - Leave House and start grumbling
8.30am - Reach Company and start waiting for Lunch
1230pm - Eat Lunch and Wait for 5pm
4.45pm - Start Packing my stuff
4.50pm - Walk slowly to toilet
5pm - ~~Dash out at the speed of light~~ Walk out of Company
Cycle repeats itself.

Oh about the book... i'm sure u guys heard of the Takeshi Movie right? Accuracy of Death or something.. I reading the book. But so far only at 2nd page... Always too tired on bus to read... Hmm maybe can finish before intern job finishes.

Hmmm oh well.. Now can look forward to ahdee's birthday. haha... YAH!!! Its on 27 May.... So... people who are reading my blog.. you know what to do la.... ~~buy over the company i am working and let me shake leg in office~~ Make sure you leave me happy birthday comments ar. First Day of internship

Dun really like the environment.. the ear plug makes me uncomfortable and its too noisy inside. The people and staff are rather friendly though. Hopefully time will fly ba... Hmmm assigned to help out with improving the printer production line... lol.. hopefully ahdee wun make it worse. Haha.. Working @ 8.30 sucks... Wearing Short Sleeve shirt sucks more.... T_T

Hmmm seeing alot of people's blog having lots of mother's day stuff. Just now was outside walking around with my gf and saw that restaurants all over J8 are packed with crowd.

Haha those people who are wondering what's ahdee doing not celebrating Mother's Day... but well... not that ahdee dun wanna celebrate, but my family seldom celebrate these kinds of events. Here's why:

Mum: Haha ya la.. not worth it to celebrate today la.. All those promotions dunno got more expensive or not. Want to celebrate also celebrate on other days la.

Haha... now you all know why le ba? Well.. this applies to most festivals too... We aren't really the sticky kind of family i guess. Haha... but on the ocassions that we do go out, all of us enjoyed.

Haha... ya... arab street.. Somewhere i did not expect i would go.. somemore at night... lol... all because of my sec sch classmate cuicai la.... out of the blues say he cannot sleep then ask me go drink coffee.... >.<

Haha.. turns out the cuicai wanted to try the water smoke pipe thingy at the cafe. See the picture on the left is the Water pipe thingy. Well according to cuicai... The thing works by having the hot charcoal on top of the tobacco.. which sends the thing down to pass through water. Then u suck in through the pipe then u will get the smoke. Haha.. His one was Peach flavour.. So ahdee can smell abit of the peach smoke.

Haha for those wondering if ahdee got try.. Haha of course not... ahdee dun like smoking at all... lol. Anyway... all ahdee had was an oreo milkshake... which was not very nice... lol... Haha.. dun wanna do free advert for the cafe haha.. so if u wanna know where let me know.. i tell u lor... lol

Anyway... according to Cuicai... the smoke although seems lighter cos it passes through water... the effect is even more stronger than normal smokes.. cos u dun feel the smokes being heavy... but cos u smoke over a long time... its equally damaging to your lungs... so... defintely no-no for long term..

Yupx..... What are holidays without movies??? Haha.. So far ahdee watched 2 movies le... Haha but both with roy. Haha a few blockbuster movies are coming up soon. Anyone wanna watch????

First up, we watched IRONMAN, the day ahdee ended his exams on friday. Super nice lor. I like the effects and how everything seems so real. Who knows maybe someday ahdee might be able to build his own ironman. Lol... Makes ahdee wanna buy parts to try out on minature robots. Haha anyone got any sites or places where ppl can find cheap parts?

Next up, was forbidden kingdom. Quite an interesting show. Haha you get to hear Jet Li speak english with weird weird accent. There are alot of nice interesting fight scenes. And after discussing with roy.. we have decided some interesting facts:

1) White Haired Demoness is afraid of Scissors

2) Jet Li is a monkey

3) Jackie Chan is an old drunken whose afraid of having no wine

4) Jade Warlord is afraid of Jade

Haha....just some things that we noticed la... its worth it if u wanna hear everything in english.

Overall, more worth it to watch ironman la... thats what ahdee feels.

Outdoor activities

Haha... Remember what ahdee said about too much gaming being not good. Hei why dun you ask some of your friends or even ahdee along for a cycling trip down ECP?

Recommendations:
1) Go on tuesday? That way, you get to eat the Gelare waffles @ half price!
2) These few days sun very hot sia... So dun go too early or under the hot sun. Wait you become chao ta.... try going in the late afternoon
3) Check out the new linkway between ECP and Pasir ris (ahdee did not try la... too far le)

Haha .. anyway ahdee went with his gf and "boss".

Haha... as you all can see... After cycling ahdee went for steamboat at this place called "Hook on Steamboat" . The food is so-so la.. nothing much except chicken and fish. The rest like beef, and the various seafood and clam shell stuff, ahdee dun eat de. But but but.. they have free flow ice cream wor..... haha... but often the flavours run out so have to wait for them to refill.

Haha... So ... apart from gaming... be sure to head out and breathe some fresh air.

P.S. Apart from Online gaming and cycling .. there are other things that you all can do.

Haha Sorry for MIA-ing again... well... recently quite busy cos i formated my laptop without thinking then all the thinkpad stuff are gone from my ibm laptop... Slowly fixing everything back... but hei... at least now the laptop boots up faster. :P

Haha.. playing Cabalsea these few days while downloading the softwares for my laptop. Anyone also got play? How about Viwawa?

Cabalsea:

Well... basically a 3D MMORPG as u can see.. the characters are quite cool. For ahdee, he is using a blader, basically someone who uses two swords. Its quite interesting if you have friends playing with you, but the servers are often pack on weekends so getting on the same servers might be a little difficult. Ahdee is now playing the first server Mercury, so if u are playing just add me lor... "Spearbluez"

Viwawa:

Its a totally different genre of game from Cabal. Basically it has most of the games that we singaporean love, like mahjong (Wahjong in this case), Big 2 (daidee), Bridge and various other games. Its fun to play when you just wanna spend sometime and not install anything on your computer. Simply just register with them and click and you are all set to get your 13 wonders from Mahjong, or Full House from Big 2. The game also features gold coins that you earn that you can use to buy clothes for your wawa (avatar).

Haha... But remember... Dun play too much till you forgo your sleep wor... Exercise is also important. Dun just do finger exercises on your computer k.
